August is a great time to come to the Napa Valley to enjoy the warm summer airs, and witness all the preparations for the new harvest. Come join VIADER for a casual Argentine-Style BBQ party on Sunday, August 1st at their estate overlooking the Napa Valley and get a “sneak preview” of the 2007 VIADER & “V” new releases. All current releases from the VIADER estate and DARE by Viader lines will also be available.
VIADER was founded twenty-five years ago in 1984 by Delia Viader (pictured top, right), and is owned and operated by the Viader family. VIADER specializes in small production Bordeaux blends and Syrah from the family’s mountain estate. The signature wine “VIADER,” composed of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, was recently named as one of the “Top Napa Cabs” by The Wine Spectator (Aug. 17, 2009).

In good fun we pit Napa and Sonoma against one another to see which region makes the best wine. But with Chardonnay the competition goes way beyond region. It’s about oaked vs. unoaked, Malo-Lactic vs. Non Malo, cool climate vs. warm. This competition is sure to buck the trend and shed some light on a wine that often is marginalized in public, but privately adored by many.
Falcor winery in South Napa is hosting this time. You’ll love this swanky little gem located in a “scenic corporate park.” The doors open at 6:30, voting stops at 8:00, wines are revealed at 8:30.
As always it’s $10 per person. Hope to see you there.
