These 3 wineries are nestled high above the Napa Valley providing a unique climate for grape growing and amazing views of the valley. The tasting fees are high but the experience is unparalleled.

If you're looking to visit some smaller wineries that don't get as many visitors as the majors, try this tour. You'll likely meet the owners and discover some great wines. One tip: I'd only recommend one winery tour per day so keep that in mind when making appointments with Hendry and Altamura.

Wineries on the Silverado Trail recommended by my friend Jim, who knows more about wine than I do :)

Start up at Calistoga and work your way down the valley for a sparkling day in the valley. Schramsberg may be one oft the best in the valley, and those in Carneros have some excellent estate wines.

If you're a huge Zinfandel fan, some of the best Zins can be found in Sonoma! There's a saying in Zins... "The three Rs" which stands for Ridge, Ravenswood, and Rombauer. And for good reason :)
