I love this trip because you get far away from the hustle and bustle of Napa and Sonoma Valley. It's great if you are looking to relax, not spend a lot of money and have some delicious wine.

Francis Coppola Winery

If you liked Francis Ford Coppola's tasting room in Napa Valley (before they started charging $25 to get in), check out the newly renovated property in Geyserville. You can get all your favorite wines including Rosso & Blanco and the Diamond Collection.

Plan on spending several hours here. The tasting experience is wonderful - they started me with a taste of rose in an old red barn and then directed me into an underground cave to sample the rest of their wines. (I loved the Rose and the Two Patch Zin.) If you love the wine like I did you can purchase it by the glass or bottle and stay for a while. So bring a picnic, pull up an Adirondack chair and enjoy the great wine, amazing views and live music.

Zichichi Family Vineyards

Right down the street from Bella, Zichichi is known for their delicious zinfandels. They are a family operation and their wines are 100% estate grown. They do a great barrel tasting and also offer the option to picnic.

Ferrari-Carano Vineyards & Winery

If you've never been here it is definitely worth checking out, if for no other reason than to see the amazing property. It's situated on 5 acres of gardens that include 2000 species of trees and shrubs alongside gorgeous foot bridges over a rippling stream and waterfalls. Oh, and the wine is good too.
