The Russian River appellation is a great area of Sonoma to explore. The terrain is cool, roads are windy and slow and the feel is laid back. Prepare yourself for some great pinot noirs!
Winery Stops Taft represents the Russian River well - superb wine at reasonable prices. The tasting room is small and the staff is super friendly.
Lynmar has some amazing grounds where you can taste outside on the patio. Their pinot is the highlight.
Very intimate tasting in their barrel room. This wine is hard to find and very high quality.
Gary Farrell is a great stop on any Russian River itinerary. The view is great and the tasting room is beautiful. Wines can be pricey though.
Beautiful spot to taste some world class Pinot Noir and perhaps add yourself to their waiting list for the famous single vineyard pinots.
If you want to make it rustic weekend in the Russian River Valley, stay at the Farmhouse Inn in Forestville. It is also one of three Michelin starred restaurants in Sonoma County.
