This is always a great last stop on your way out of wine country heading back towards San Francisco. The sparkling wine is good (not the best), but the view is to die for. This is where you go to take in the beautiful valley, snap a picture, then relax near the end of the day. A must see simply for the atmosphere.

Domaine Carneros always has the most amazing selection of Sparkling Wines. Anytime I am in CA I go to enjoy their wines and wonderful atmosphere. In the summer they have the wonderful veranda to enjoy wine and nibbles on & in the winter you cant beat the roaring fireplace in the wine room. Though I love bubbles their reds are definitely a treat as well.

This is one of my favorites in Carneros. The winery is modeled after Tattinger in Champagne. It is a beautiful estate and offers a great experience. In the winter, you can taste by the fire. In the summer, you can enjoy a leisurely tasting outside on the beautiful terrace. They make some excellent sparkling wines and Pinot Noirs. You can enjoy flights or purchase a glass. They also have a menu of snacks and are one of the few wineries that are open until 6pm. But it does get more crowded later in the day.
Sit out on the terrace, order a glass of Le Reve (the dream) and soak up a slice of heaven.

I'm usually not a champagne lover, but I must admit that Domaine Carneros produces some pretty amazing fizz (they also make a great Pinot Noir). The setting is spectacular as well. They have a really cool 18th-century (esque) Chateau. My only two complaints are that it tends to get very busy on the weekends, and the buzz from Hwy 12 can get a bit out of hand at times.
