We took the tour for our anniversary of the champagne cellars at Korbel. It was beautiful and our guide was SO knowledgeable. When the tour ended we purchased our champagne and the woman working the cash register told us, "It's your lucky day." That being said, she offered us a travel box for additional bottles we may pick up on our travels. Soon after we stopped by the Deli to get some cheese, salami, olives and marinated mushrooms (all of which turned out to be super delicious). As we walked to the car we stopped to take one last picture in front of the Korbel sign at the front of their offices. It was during this quick stop that my boyfriend proposed overlooking the vineyard across the street. We are not fiances and it's very exciting. Korbel could not have been more correct when saying, "It's your lucky day."

I really don?t know why we went here, this was the ultimate commercially run operation, the wines were lower end of the market fizzy wines and did nothing to impress or excite our taste buds. That said it is one of the leading sparkling wine producers on the West Coast but I can only assume the price point is the attraction at about $20. I?ve just remembered the Korbel refinery was on the way to the magnificent Redwood forest, now that WAS worth a visit.
