I have lived in Sonoma County all my life and was taking some friends wine tasting and stopped by this place. I agree with the other reviews we were treated rudley by an unfriendly woman. She was sitting at a desk and acted like we were bothering her. She was not busy as we were the only ones there so I don't know what her problem was but I would not go back.

Situated on the main road the Martinelli tasting room was cluttered with the wine tasting almost being a second thought. I got the impression the host was bored and not interested and the wines reflected that attitude. A disappointing selection with nothing really standing out as exceptional. They were all priced in the $45 area. Better wines are to be found for these prices.

I first of all, preemptively apologize for such a harsh review.
The parking lot is small, gravel but forgivable amidst the views of vines up the hill and across the busy River Road.
Upon entering the gift shop and tasting area you'll notice about the same gift shop-y items as anywhere else.
What got me visiting here was the pretentious snooty lady that handled me. I tasted several wines and wasn't very impressed. They didn't have many open and she seemed to treat me with disdain like she was not willing to open anymore because I would not buy anything expensive.
She touted a top Cab but would not let me taste it. I bought it for my boyfriend foregoing the thought of the cost (around 90 dollars) as he loves a good Cab.
It did not despite it's mild expense seem to be an aging wine, but a drink now. We were very disappointed with the wine and believe even with aging there was nothing special about the Cab.
Due to the snooty help, the limited tasting selection and the disappointing bottle I brought home I will not be back.
Which is a shame since it is so close to where I live now.
