I visit Peju every time I'm in Napa. The architecture and gardens lend to a beautiful aesthetic experience, but the wines will make your day.
When you enter the foyer in the tasting room, you will be impressed with the scale of Peju's facilities. Large enough for groups, but intimate enough to enjoy with a special guest.
I prefer the reds, and whole-heartedly recommend their Shiraz and Merlot. I am fond of the rare special white, and their Carnival is absolutely delicious. You will surely want a case to take with you. If you only have time to visit one vineyard, you won't regret choosing Peju.

Peju a chateau style building in the same areas as Opus, Cakebread and Turnbull. The wine tasting room was impressive, not so the host who was somewhat forceful and condescending to start off with. The tasting room was popular and the wines were OK. The merlot was somewhat flat and uninspiring and the best of the tasting was the 06 Chardonnay

Peju Province Winery produces some outstanding wines, reds and whites.
I'm somewhat partial to their Sauvignon Blanc.
Far too many American made Sauvignon Blanc wines for the past four or five years have fallen into the rut of echoing the New Zealand style of excessive Grapefruit on the nose and on the palate, overshadowing the pleasant hint of grass that should be present in a true Loire Valley styled clone. The good folks though at Peju Winery in Napa Valley have resisted the marketing gush to recreate that kind of wine. Their efforts have yielded a remarkably refreshing Sancerre styled wine worthy of the endorsements from the Ernest Hemingway fan club looking for a wine to enjoy with their raw oysters. This is the wine for that task!
Color: Brilliant light yellow suggesting the wine might have been fined and filtered.
Aromas/Bouquet: light touches of green apple, some citrus that hints at grapefruit but might even be thought of as lemony. And most importantly, those hints of grassy odors one needs on an S.B.
Flavors: Here is where this wine really shows its stuff. This is a sancerre style sans oak as it should be; the wine is crisply acidic showing again that citrus, lemony quality up front, but also giving flavors of tropical fruits mid palate.
Finish: Most white wines of this type tend to disappear rather quickly, this one is no exception. I didn't expect a lingering palate, and I didn't get one. Not a huge issue as far as I'm concerned.
Foods to Pair: Seafoods! Bring on those oysters; only, for me, I want them placed on the BB Grill to cook before I slurp; then I'll sip the wine.

If I were to describe Peju in two words, it would be: Tourist Trap. We went on a tour and the man actually sang to us. Instead of talking about the wines, he had to distract us with something. It is open late and often attracts drunk tour busses after 5pm. So, if you want to come to Napa to feel like you are going to a tacky bar, this is the place to go to.
