A hidden gem in Napa Valley, this smaller scale vinyard is on the adjacent property of Stag Leap and the ower had a great vision and build this place in the 70s. The Hundertwasser design of Quisote winery and the name, Quixote came from Cervantes? Don Quixote as the original inspiration.
Specialized in their Petite Syrah, I had pleasure tasting the 04 and 05. 05 Petite Syrah appears to me berry smoky and in my opinion, can be aged for couple more years. 04 on the other hand is very well balance between fruit and tannins, giving out its earthy finish. Personally I think it's a great experience to visit the winary and have a causal tasting experience. Their staffs are also very awesome. Anne in particular treat us like her very own best friend upon our first visit. I highly recommend the trip to Quiote.
