Located on Diamond Mountain, near Calistoga, Reverie is one of our favorite wineries. The Special Reserve is a Cabernet Sauvignon (93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc), with a small production of approximately 500 cases. This wine is a deep purple color with black fruits and smoke. A nicely balanced, forward wine that will drink well for at least 10 years. Appointments are needed for tour and tasting and winery is closed for part of the "off-season" but if in the neighborhood a visit is highly recommended. The staff is very friendly and on slower days sitting in the ring of redwoods they are more than willing to sit and chat, of course with a glass of wine in hand. I cannot say enough about the quality of the wines not the friendliness of the staff. Cheers!
