Silver Oak Vinyards make a fantastic Cab, one you will often find at dinner priced for over $300/bottle. The tasting room was under renovation due to a fire at the time but they still cracked a bottle for us (3 people) and we had the chance to enjoy that.
Ended up buying about 6 bottles, think I am on the last one, will have to come back for more soon.

Silver Oak is a great cab. But this is Napa Valley, and you can find many a great cab. And probably for cheaper. That being said, I do admit that I have a few bottles in my cellar.
The best time to visit is for one of their release parties. They are the first weekend in Feb and Aug although I prefer a nice cab in the winter over a baking summer day. Their parties get crowded, so go early and enjoy endless tastings and great food.
I really enjoy the Napa Valley but the Alexander Valley is great too.
Also, if you like Silver Oak, check out their sister winery Twomey in St. Helena or Healdsburg. They have a great merlot and a decent pinot and I don't think they have a tasting fee at Twomey.

Silver Oak produces some of my all-time favorite cabs. The winery was shut down by a fire in 2007, but they have rebuilt and now have a pretty hip, funky tasting room. Feels a bit like a W Hotel, as it is fairly modern. Service was very friendly on our recent trip, though the tasting fee was somewhat pricey for what you got ($20 for a flight of 3).

I prefer the Napa Valley Cab (over the Alexander) but I still feel that both are slightly overpriced. But, Silver Oak has earned their rep.
Silver Oak's tasting room is very modern and spacious (unfortunately, that is courtesy of a fire from a few years back). The rest of the grounds don't offer much.
Overall, I would recommend a Silver Oak visit - especially since there wine is so well known. Nothing particularly spectacular but you'll likely have a nice experience there.
